Zviad Sichinava remains on the post of the President of Georgian Football Federation (GFF) for another 4-year term. Decision was made on 19th congress of GFF held in Holyday Inn (Tbilisi) on January 22. 30 out of 33 invited delegates appeared on the meeting and all of them voted for the only candidate. Member of the UEFA executive committee Frantiszhek Lavrinek was also attending the congress as an observer.

Georgia has climbed up one step on new FIFA/Coca-Cola ranking where it had 73th place last month. Georgian national team has played 8 games, including friendlies during 2010 and didn't suffer a single loss. First game in 2011 is appointed to February 9 against Armenians, while on March 26 Temuri Ketsbaia's team will play its first official match in New Year. The opponents will be leaders of qualification group F - Croatians.

Georgian national team has ended its football year without single defeat in Slovenia - 2:1 on November 17. Hosts controlled the game and only efforts of goalkeeper Giorgi Loria kept them from scoring more than once in first half of the game. On 40th minute of the game Loria was able to keep the clean sheet after the penalty strike by Novakovic but he wasn't able to fix his defenders obvious mistake few minutes after when Ilicic passed to Cesar to let him make it 1:0 with a header.

The last official game of Georgian national team in 2010 was played on October 12 in Riga, Latvia. Georgia was in charge of the game almost entire 90 minutes and had few chances to score. After the goal that was dismissed because of the offside, Georgia had another opportunity to take the lead and the chance was successfully used. Davit Siradze scored on 74th minute of the game after fine play of Ucha Lobzhanidze but guests were not able to keep their frame safe until the final whistle.

The UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, have held the draw for first and second qualification stages of 2010-2011 season of Champions League and Europa League. Georgia will be presented by 4 teams, one of which will battle for the spot of the group stage of Champions League.

Georgian Under 21 team have played Euro 2011 qualifying Group B match against Switzerland on May 30, 2010 at Boris Paichadze National Stadium in Tbilisi. The game was drawn, 0:0 despite the fact that hosts have little bit of advantage over the guests. Georgians were able to send the game to the net at 18th minute of the game but referee saw the offside and waved his flag. Georgian team remains the minimal chances to qualify.

"WIT-Georgia" Tbilisi is the Georgian Cup winner. The final of the Davit Kipiani Cup was held at the Boris Paichadze stadium in Tbilisi on May 26. Two clubs from Georgian capital clashed in the decider.WIT-Georgia scored the game's only goal at 41st minute of the game. Giorgi Datunaishvili found the net after Jaba Lipartia's good wing play and crossing pass. These is a first cup title for "WIT-Georgia" team.

Olimpi Rustavi has officially become champions of Georgia on May 5, after the 33th tour of the Umaglesi Liga match against Dinamo Tbilisi. The game ended with a draw 1:1 and a point gained by Rustavi team was enough to make the gap between leader and the followers uncloseable
