Nika Tvauri claims bronze at IBSA World Championship

4th IBSA World Championship and Games was held in Alania, Turkey from April 1 to 10 where visually impared Georgian athlete, Nika Tvauri won bronze in 50 meters crawl.

Athletes from 20 countries were participating in event and together with medal; Tvauri has also claimed the right to participate at European Championship in Germany which is to be held in July.

It worth noting that Tvauri's bronze is first medal ever won by Georgian athletes in swimming sports after the country achieved its independence in 1991.

Georgian delegation was led by vice-president of para-olympic committee Giorgi Tsasidze and coaches Henri Kuprashvili and Zurab Khomasuridze.

2014 Men's European Water Polo Championship, which took place in Budapest, Hungary is finished. The Georgian National water polo team got 12th place at the tournament. They lost six matches in the group stage. Also, Georgia lost the match for the 11th place against Russia's Team with the score 8:9.

15 April, Tbilisi (MSY) --- XXXI International "Feliks Stamm" Tournament for Elite Men and Women took place from 9-12 April in Warsaw, Poland. There were 98 men and 43 female boxers, representing 23 countries, participated in the competition. Georgian National Boxing Team (coach - Mr. David Tsiklauri) represented by 6 athletes won 2 gold and 4 bronze medals, as well as the third place in teams' rankings.

1st March, Istanbul (MSY) --- After the Georgian National Water polo Team defeated Turkey 8:4 (Tbilisi, "Olympic" swimming pool) they traveled to Istanbul to play the response match. For the first time in the history of the Georgian water polo, the National Team passed the final qualifications for the European Championship.

Tbilisi hosted the last round of play-off matches of the qualifications for the European Water Polo Championship between Georgian and Turkish national water polo teams. The winner of this couple will get the right to participate in the final stage of the EWC 2014 in Budapest, Hungary.
