
London, UK. 29 June, 2012. Lasha Shavdatuashvili - Georgian athlete brilliantly conducted the day and earned the Olympic gold medal in 66 kg weight category. He became the youngest Olympic champion in Judo.
On the qualification stage 20-years old judoist won 4 battles and in the final he defeated 32-year-old Hungarian Miklos Ungvari. During the wrestling with Ungvari Shavdatuashvili was active, he got Yuko and after opponent got Shido (warning). Shavdatuashvili won the game with 1 score.
At the qualification stage Georgian Judoist wrestled with -Alejandro Zuniga (CHI), David Larose (FRA), Colin Watts (UK) and Masashi Ebinuma (JAP).
Lasha Sahvdatuashvili's medal is the first success of the Georgian delegation at the Games.
