27-31 July, Tbilisi (MSY) --- Georgia’s Baseball and Softball Federation has organized series of international friendly matches between baseball national teams of Georgia and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Georgia’s team has won all the matches.
Georgia’s team headed by the coach Mr. Nugzar Kapanadze won the first match with the score 13:5 at “Merani” sports-complex (27, July). On 29th and 31st July the matches took place at “Shatili” sports-complex, where Kapanadze’s team won counterparts 15:8 and 21:5 respectively.
Veteran and active baseball sportsmen, representatives of Iranian diaspora in Georgia as well as officials from the states’ embassies attended the games. State’s Minister for Diaspora issues of Georgia – Mr. Konstantine Surguladze meet the players of both team at the last match of the tournament.
Baseball Federation of I.R. of Iran has already invited Georgian National team to participate in return games. The matches are expected to take place in the next few months.
Georgia’s Baseball and Softball National Federation plans to develop collaboration with overseas federations and it welcome any suggestions from partners abroad.
